LAAAMP Expands Global Access to Research Infrastructures
Expanding global access to large-scale research infrastructures requires not only facilities, but also strong international networks, training opportunities, and sustainable data ecosystems. A new article published in Elements: An International Magazine of Mineralogy, Geochemistry, and Petrology highlights the mission and global impact of LAAAMP in supporting access to advanced light sources and crystallographic sciences across underserved regions. The article, authored by members of the LAAAMP Executive Committee — Özgül Kurtuluş Öztürk, Michele Zema, and Sekazi K. Mtingwa — also emphasizes the importance of international collaboration and FAIR scientific infrastructures, including the role of initiatives such as DAPHNE4NFDI in enabling sustainable, interoperable research workflows and FAIR data practices.
