Rabia Q participates in MATRAC2 School on Neutron and Synchrotron Radiation
Our DAPHNE4NFDI member RABIA Q. recently participated in the MATRAC2 School on “Application of Neutrons and Synchrotron Radiation in Materials Science” (1–6 March 2026), supported by the Röntgen-Ångström Cluster. The program, held at Schloss Fürstenried and the TUM Forschungs-Neutronenquelle Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (FRM II) in Garching, offered an excellent combination of lectures and hands-on training. Participants explored key neutron and X-ray scattering techniques, including imaging, diffraction, SANS, reflectometry, and inelastic scattering, and gained practical experience directly at the beamlines. A particular highlight was the integration of FAIR data principles into experimental practice. Within the framework of DAPHNE4NFDI, Sebastian Busch introduced tools and workflows such as electronic lab notebooks, IGSN-based sample registration, and data cataloguing via SciCat, demonstrating how structured data management enhances transparency, reproducibility, and long-term usability of research data. Many thanks to the organizers and contributors for an inspiring and well-structured event! #DAPHNE4NFDI #FAIRdata #OpenScience #NeutronScience #PhotonScience #MaterialsScience #ResearchData #NFDI #MATRAC2 #RöntgenÅngstromCluster #SciCat #IGSN
